Property evacuated as fire crews tackle flat fire at Howley

FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus evacuated a flat at Howley, Warrington, last night as they tackled a kitchen fire in the building.

Three fire engines attended – from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Penketh following reports of a fire at a flat on Lintott Gardens, Howley.



The fire was located in the kitchen.
Wearing two breathing apparatus, crews used a hose reel and a covering jet to put out the flames.
A large fan was used to disperse smoke and a thermal imaging camera checked for hot spots.
Everyone inside the property was accounted for and evacuated as a precaution.
Crews were at the scene for almost four hours.
Then shortly after 9pm, two crews from Lymm and Leigh attended to a fire at a disused building on Perth Close< Cinnamon Brow. A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames and damp down the area. Crews then cut away at the ceiling. They were detained for approximately one hour.
