RivFest returns with three day music festival at Golden Square

0

WARRINGTON’S RivFest returns with their biggest music festival yet, a three-day weekender at the Golden Square from August 6-8 2021.

Featuring Hacienda legend Graeme Park, DJ Paulette, the mighty Everything Everything, Eliza & The Bear and many more upcoming artists over the weekend.

All funds raised go towards bursaries and support for disadvantaged young people, helping them create successful futures within the performing and visual arts.
Now firmly established as one of the key fixtures in the region, the charity festival returns to the 3,000 capacity Old Market Square, presented by The River Reeves Foundation, a charity launched in 2016 following the tragic deaths of River, his band Viola Beach and their manager, Craig Tarry.
The 2021 event is also a celebration marking five years since Viola Beach posthumously reached #1 in the UK Albums chart.
Friday night kicks things off with Hacienda legend Graeme Park (+ guests). Following his genre-bending Hacienda Classical series with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, Park live-streamed his Hacienda House Party to an audience of millions during lockdown. This ultimate launch party will feature an exclusive set of tunes handpicked from his 30 year DJ career.
Saturday culminates with a headline set from the mighty Everything Everything. The Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello nominees will be treating audiences to tracks from their critically-acclaimed fifth studio album RE-ANIMATOR, alongside their now-legendary back-catalogue. The blistering line-up also features:
Eliza & The Bear/Euphoric indie powerhouses now famous for their incredible festival sets
Pizzagirl/Upside-Down DreamPop from Merseyside, set to release his second album on one of the best labels in the land, Heist Or Hit Records
Orchards/Brighton math-pop to get you dancing in the summer heat ft tracks from their debut album ‘Lovecore’
The Lounge Society/Recent releases on Speedy Wunderground have secured them as one of the most highly anticipated new acts in the country
The Rills/Who have grown a colossal fanbase almost overnight, thanks to their immediate brand of punchy indie rock bangers
Abbie Ozard/Already making some major waves with her beach day vibes and signed to the winning team at Modern Sky
Hadda Be/Hyped debut ‘Another Life’ is set for release on 30th April
And if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be welcoming some of the favourite unsigned talent including Liverpool’s More In Luv, the ethereal sounds of Foxglove, and Manchester indie boys All Night Dining.
Sunday is a free celebration of the best talent from across the North West. Headlined by the Glastonbury Emerging longlisted grunge-pop singer, Abi Rose Kelly and featuring The Zangwills/Saytr Play/Aligners/32Tens/The A.V. Club/Jessica Luise/Solis/Seagoth/Liam Hillyer/Two Skies/ Rivver/The Kendos/Kerry Feeney.
Many of the local acts on this year’s line-up have been awarded bursaries from the River Reeves Foundation. Over the next 12 months, the charity will award another 50 grants of up to £500 to support young people and those from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their artistic ambitions.
Sunday is also a fundraiser for the Foundation with donations gratefully accepted to support up-and-coming talent.
