New COVID-19 cases fall for third consecutive day in Warrington with lowest number for a month

COVID-19 infection rates have fallen for a third consecutive day in Warrington with 78 new cases reported in the town in the latest data from Public Health England, the lowest number for a month.

The 78 (103) new COVID-19 cases, the lowest number since 69 on June 26, takes the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 23,314 (23,236).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen again to 1,369 (1,401) – 651.9 (667.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– but still well above the national average of 490.5 (502.1) per 100,000, which have also fallen.



Meanwhile, the number of new COVID cases in the UK has continued to fall for a fifth consecutive day.
The UK recorded 29,173 new cases, compared to 48,161 recorded this time last week.
The number of people who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has risen by 43,454, taking the total to 46,563,452, while 37,160,659 people have now been double jabbed after 206,968 adults had their second vaccination yesterday.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 486 (486) 231.4 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 193.4.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 570 (570).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Sunday, July 25 2021 was 28 (86), taking the total number of deaths to 129,158 (129,130).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 29,173 (31,795), taking the total number to 5,697,912 (5,669,260).
