COVID-19 infection rates fall again in Warrington for second consecutive day

COVID-19 infection rates fell slightly for a second consecutive day in Warrington with 103 new cases reported in the town in the latest data from Public Health England, which was delayed yesterday due to technical difficulties on the Government website.

The 103 (120) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 23,236 (23,133).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen slightly, with 1,401 (1,418) – 667.1 (675.2) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– but still well above the national average of 502.1 (497.1) per 100,000, which continues to rise.



Meanwhile, The number of new COVID cases in the UK fell for the fourth day in a row.
The UK has recorded 31,795 new cases, compared to 36,389 cases on Friday.
The latest data also shows 43,153 more people in the UK have received their first COVID-19 vaccine, taking the total number of adults to have received one jab to 46,519,998.
Another 191,045 people had their second dose, bringing the total number of double jabbed adults to 36,953,691.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 486 (484) 231.4 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 193.2.
