Networking on Two Wheels riding into town

AS lockdown restrictions ease, a scheme that has proved a huge success across the Northwest – Networking on Two Wheels – is riding into Warrington.

A group of lawyers, accountants and other professionals is gearing up to get on their bikes and help reconnect Warrington’s business community as part of a new networking scheme.

The team behind Networking on Two Wheels – combining cycling with business networking -– is planning its first Warrington event as coronavirus restrictions continue to ease.
Currently led by Fraser Crewe, Director at BA Commercial, the group has already proved popular in other Northwest areas including Chester, with over 40 members regularly clocking up the miles.
The group has a new official cycling kit sponsored by member firms including law firm Aaron and Partners – a longstanding supporter and member of the Warrington Business Exchange – and hopes to be running regular monthly rides from this month onwards. The first ride will be on Thursday 29 July, leaving from the Park Royal Hotel car park in Stretton.
Helen Johnson, Aaron and Partners’ Head of Marketing and Business Development, who also lives in Stockton Heath, is leading the group’s launch in Warrington.
She said: “Networking on Two Wheels is an ideal way to keep active, as well as network with colleagues and professionals from across the region, and we’re excited to bring it to Warrington for the very first time.
“There’s a fantastic business community in this area and we think this would be a great way to connect more people together. It’s especially important after the challenges of lockdown, combining fresh air, fitness and an opportunity to build a local network of like-minded contacts.”
The group was created to try and help those working in desk-based professions to be more active, promoting the link between exercise, higher productivity levels and reduced stress. Each ride starts at 2pm and follows a route of around 30 miles with a break for coffee and cake at the half way point, returning at around 4:30pm.
Helen added: “Our Chester group has now been active for six years in total, and I know there will be lots of professionals in the area that are keen to get out and meet new people after a very tough 18 months.
“Interested business people working in and around Warrington and East Cheshire are welcome to join us to network and enjoy the many benefits cycling has to offer.”
Anyone wishing to get involved in the next Networking on Two Wheels ride can book their place by contacting Helen directly by email [email protected] or via the Networking on Two Wheels group on LinkedIn.
