More than 1,000 COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington in a week as 238 new cases confirmed

MORE than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Warrington over a seven-day period, with another 238 reported in the latest data from Public Health England.

The 238 (220) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 22,361 (21,123).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, with 1,004 (999) – 497.1 (475.7) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– well above the national average of 376.1 (359.2) per 100,000, which continues to rise.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 48,161 new COVID cases and 25 more coronavirus-related deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
It comes as all UK adults have now been offered a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine – hitting the prime minister’s target a day ahead of schedule, although more than 10pc of adults in Warrington have still not received a first jab.
