ANOTHER 220 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Warrington, with infection rates continue to rise in the town with, almost 1,000 new cases in a seven-day period.
The 220 (238) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 22,123 (21,903).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, with 999 (950) – 475.7 (452.4) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– well above the national average of 359.2 (344.8) per 100,000, which continues to rise.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded 54,674 new COVID-19 cases and 41 deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
The figure is a rise on Friday’s 51,870 cases, which was the highest since mid-January.
