MAJOR resurfacing road works are to start on the A49 at Warrington on Monday (July 19) – and will take up to six weeks to complete.

The work will be carried out on Tarporley Road, Stretton, between Hall Lane and the borough boundary.

To enable the road works to be carried out safely, Warrington Borough Council has announced the road will be closed between 7:00pm and 1:00am but all roads will be fully open to traffic outside these times.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works but some traffic delays are likely to occur.
Vehicular access will be under the control of the contractor as directed on site. Vehicles parked on the road, footway or verge obstructing the works may be removed.
Information on bus services will be posted at stops prior to the commencement of the works.
The signed diversion route will be A49 London Road, A56 Walton Road, A56 Walton New Road, A56 Chester Road, A533 Northwich Road and vice versa.
Cones, barriers and signs will be used to protect workers from danger and to keep the public safe. Drivers are being urged to pay close attention to safety when driving near the road works.
