Infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers continue to rise as 177 new COVID-19 cases confirmed

ANOTHER 177 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington, as infection rates continue to increase, with hospital inpatient numbers continuing to rise.

While another two patients have been discharged, the total number of inpatients has increased from 18-21 with five in intensive care.



The 179 (179) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 21,407 (21,228).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, with 878 (834) – 418.1 (397.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– well above the national average of 329.9 (319.5) per 100,000, which continues to rise.
Meanwhile the UK has reported 42,302 new coronavirus cases and 49 more deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
It is the highest number of daily infections since 15 January when 55,761 cases were recorded.It is the eighth day in a row where total cases have exceeded 30,000.
