HOSPITAL inpatient admissions have risen as another 145 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Warrington in the latest data from Public Health England.
Inpatient numbers at Warrington & Halton Hospitals have risen from 13-16 in the last 24 hours, including five in intensive care.
Meanwhile, England’s R number has risen slightly to between 1.2 and 1.5, as coronavirus infection rates increased sharply across the UK.
The R number – which represents the average number of people each COVID-positive person goes on to infect – was between 1.1 and 1.3 last week.
The 145 (152) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 20,736 (20,591).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, with 765 (755) – 364.3 (359.5) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– still well above the national average of 277.3 (267.1) per 100,000, which also continues to rise.
