Penketh road closures looming for carriageway surfacing

VARIOUS road closures are pending in the Penketh and Cuerdley areas of Warrington for up to eight weeks, starting in August, for carriageway and footway surfacing.

Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Entire lengths of road: Poplar Avenue; Well Lane; The Park; St Austel Close; Shaftesbury Avenue; Arlington Drive from No’s. 38/61 to end of road at No’s. 49/50; Tragan Drive from No. 12 to No. 17; St Brides Close from No. 12 to Gable of No. 61 Chapel Road; Woodley Fold from No. 1 to No. 6; Southlands Avenue from No. 3 to No. 10; Station Road from the junction at Chapel Lane to the end adjacent to A562 Widnes Road.
The Order will be effective from 9th August 2021 for 8 weeks between 8:30am & 5:30pm, when signed on site.
Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative routes are Poplar Avenue via Well Lane, Chapel Road, Warrington Road and vice versa; Well Lane via Chapel Road, Warrington Road, Poplar Avenue and vice versa; Shaftesbury Avenue via Station Road, Walkers Lane and vice versa.
The restrictions are required for carriageway or footway surfacing.
