Banned driver suspect arrested on suspicion of drink driving after two vehicle collision closed London Road

A suspected banned driver who fled the scene of a two-vehicle collision which resulted in London Road, Stockton Heath, being closed earlier today has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The collision involving a red Audi and a blue Ford Kuga, occured near the Mulberry Treet pub on London Road, shortly after 10am this morning, resulting in a road closure.



A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 10 am on Thursday, July 8, police were called to a collision on London Road, Stockton Heath following a collision involving a red Audi and a blue Ford Kuga.
“One driver sustained minor injuries that didn’t require treatment.
“The road has since reopened.
“Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of driving while disqualified, leaving the scene of a collision and being unfit through drink.
“He is now in police custody.”
