WARRINGTON North MP Charlotte Nichols praised the efforts of Warrington’s Armed Services community for organising a special event at Orford Jubilee Hub to celebrate Armed Services Day at short notice.
Thanks to the Armed Forces Community Support AFCS and the local Armed Services community the event took place in Orford Park, in glorious sunshine.
Charlotte said: “I had such an enjoyable afternoon with the Armed Forces Community Support AFCS in Orford Park, to celebrate Armed Forces Day and our local armed forces community- serving personnel, reservists and cadets, and veterans.
“This brilliant event was put on with just a few days notice, which is such a credit to Archie, Steve and the other volunteers who pulled it together. It was so lovely to see children learning about history and to see veterans, service people and their families able to relax and enjoy the entertainment.
“I’m sure next year’s event will be even bigger and better, and can’t thank the Armed Forces Community Hub enough for all the incredible work they do in Warrington all year round- which today was just a little taste of!”
