New COVID-19 cases hit three figures in Warrington for first time since January

NEW COVID-19 infections have hit three figures in a day in Warrington for the first time since the end of January with 108 new cases in the latest data from Public Health England.

But hospital admissions still remain relatively low, with inpatient numbers increasing slightly from yesterday from 14 to 15.



The 108 (76) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 19,116 (19,008).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again, with 415 (412) – 197.6 (196.2) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– almost double the national rate of 100.8 (97.5) per 100,000, which also continues to rise.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, June 24 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 15 (14) including 2 (1) in ICU.

There have been no hospital deaths since April.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 481 (481) 229 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 191.6
