Public warned not to approach violent robber on the run from prison

MEMBERS of the public are being warned not to approach a violent robber with links to Warrington who is on the run from prison.

Ben Adderson, aged 23, was jailed for nine years and six months in 2017 for two robberies, including a “terrifying” park robbery when a knife was run down a woman’s face and neck.



Today police warned the public to contact them immediately and not to approach Adderson who has links to Warrington.
Adderson, who was jailed for the park robbery and a separate raid at a Bargain Booze which saw two staff members threatened with a knife, is on the run from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire, after
going missing from the facility overnight between Sunday, June 20 and Monday, June 21.
Derbyshire Police said the public should get in touch straight away if they spot him.
A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: “A convict has absconded from HMP Sudbury open prison.
“Ben Adderson absconded from the prison overnight between Sunday, June 20 and Monday, June 21.
“The 23-year-old was jailed at Carlisle Crown Court in 2017 for robbery.”
Adderson, who has links to Warrington and Middlesbrough as well as Carlisle, is 6ft 4ins tall, of slight build and with brown hair and blue eyes.
He has two tattoos – a cross on his right arm and a cannabis leaf on his left arm.
The Police spokesperson added: “If you have seen Adderson, or know of his whereabouts, please do not approach him, instead contact police immediately quoting reference number Derbyshire police reference 507-210621.”
