A49 at Appleton set to close for up to seven weeks for resurfacing

THE A49 at Appleton is set to close for up to seven weeks next month to allow carriageway repairs.

The closures on the A49 Tarporley Road will be from 7pm-1am to minimise traffic disruption.



Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on the A49 Tarporley Road from the M56/Northwich Road roundabout to the Borough Boundary.
The Order will be effective from 19th July 2021 for seven weeks between 7:00pm & 1:00am, when signed on site.
Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via A49 London Road, A56 Walton Road, A56 Walton New Road, A56 Chester Road, A533 Northwich Road and vice versa. The closure is required for carriageway surfacing.
