Two men arrested after Birchwood armed robbery appeal

DETECTIVES have today arrested two men, aged 28 and 30, on suspicion of an armed robbery at a Birchwood convenience store.

The pair were brought into custody for questioning and have since been released under investigation.



Police are still appealing for information.
It follows a robbery at around 10am on Monday 24 May when a man entered the Locking Stumps Nisa Store and threatened staff with a knife demanding cash.
He then poured coins from the till into the bottom of his jumper and ran off.
The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, around 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with a long-sleeved black top underneath, dark blue bottoms, white or cream gloves and black and white trainers.
