Hospital admissions increase as COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington rise to more than double the national average

AS the UK reported more than 9,000 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily total since February, another 63 cases have been confirmed in Warrington, with hospital admissions also rising.

Hospital admissions have risen from two inpatients to five in the last 24 hours, while infection rates in the town have now risen to more than double the national average.



Meanwhile, the 63 (40) new COVID-19 cases take the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 18,577 (18,514).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days continue to rise, with 311 (281) – 148.1 (133.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– which is now more than double the national rate of 72.8 (70.2) per 100,000, which also continues to rise.
Warrington & Halton Hospitals has reintroduced its daily reporting of figures Monday-Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
