Air ambulance attends as lorry crashes into farmer’s field following collision on M56

UPDATED: TRAFFIC was stopped on the westbound carriageway of the M56 while emergency services attended a collision when a HGV careered into a farmer’s field at Stretton, Warrington.

Heavy traffic was reported on the westbound Junction 9, Lymm Interchange, to J10, Northwich, Warrington A49, following the collision involving a HGV.
Traffic was temporarily stopped while emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended at the scene and accessed a HGV which had careered into a farmer’s field at Stretton.
Traffic has since been released following this incident and the motorway re-opened.
