COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise with 35 new cases reported

COVID-19 infection rates are continuing to rise in Warrington and are now almost back at the national rate, with 35 cases reported in the latest data from Public Health England, the highest number since February.

The 35 (22) new COVID-19 cases is the highest number since 60 on February 22 and means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 18,128 (18,093).



People aged 25 to 29 in England will be able to book their coronavirus vaccination from tomorrow morning.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced the extension to the country’s COVID-19 vaccination programme in a statement to MPs in the Commons.
Meanwhile, Cases in Warrington for the last seven days continue to rise, with 83 (70) – 39.5 (30.3) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– which is now catching up with the national rate of 42.1 (38.8) per 100,000, which also continues to rise.
But the recent increases have not converted into new cases at Warrington Hospital, where there is currently just one COVID-19 positive inpatient and none in ICU.

Warrington & Halton Hospitals have temporarily suspended provided information due to a data validation exercise.
There have been no reported deaths at the hospital since April 27th and currently two COVID inpatients.
There have been a total of 497 COVID-related deaths at the hospital since the start of the pandemic.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 487 (487) 231.9 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 191.4
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is now 567 (567).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Monday, June 7th 2021 was 1 (4), taking the total number of deaths to 127,841 (127,840).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 5,683 (5,341), taking the total number to 4,522,476 (4,517,010).
Across the country, there are 932(932) patients currently in hospital and 134 (134) on ventilation.
