SIX fire crews, including two from the Warrington area, were called out last night to a large fire which is believed to have been caused by a disposal barbecue being placed in a wheelie bin.

At around 9pm last night firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a domestic address in Rosslyn Lane, Cuddington, near Warrington.

On arrival a smoke alarm was sounding and crews discovered that a fire involving a bin had spread to a large garage and was affecting the house at the address.
No-one was unaccounted for.
Six fire engines, including ones from Birchwood and Stockton Heath, were dispatched to the scene.
Gas and electricity supplies to the address were isolated, a safety cordon was set up and firefighters extinguished the fire with two hose reel jets.
They inspected the house to make sure that the fire had not spread beyond the garage.
A thermal imaging camera was used to look for hotspots.
Some guttering and fascias had melted as a result of the blaze, but there was no fire damage inside the house.
The fire caused extensive damage to the garage.
Once the fire was out the area affected by it was damped down and turned over to make it safe.
Firefighters left the address once they were satisfied that it was safe and the fire was fully out.
They were in attendance for nearly six hours.
No-one is believed to have been injured by the fire.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a disposable barbecue having been put in the bin.
