Suspected arson attack on shipping container at business premises

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called out during the early hours of Sunday morning following a suspected arson attack at business premises on Froghall Lane.

At around 6.15 am one fire crew from Warrington was called to reports of a fire involving a shipping container at business premises on Froghall Lane, Warrington.
On arrival the crew found a shipping container containing approximately 100 tyres which was well alight.



Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, they then removed all of the remaining tyres from the container.
The crew then used a hose reel jet to cool the cylinder and a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
Firefighters were detained at the scene for around 45 minutes.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101.
Earlier in the day at 02:16 Firefighters from Warrington used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire in a play area on Troutbeck Avenue, Warrington.
The crew was detained at the scene for around 15 minutes.
