Police launch CCTV appeal after 60-year-old man cut with sharp implement at front door

POLICE have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to following a serious assault incident when a 60-year-old man was cut with a sharp implement as they attempted to enter a property in Birchwood.

At 10.45pm on 16 May two men attended a house in Trefoil Close, Birchwood and tried to gain access through the front door.



As the victim opened the front door one of the men managed to assault the 60-year-old victim. The victim tried to close the door and was cut with a sharp implement and had to seek hospital treatment.
The men left on foot.
The first man is described as being of stocky build and wearing a hooded Nike top, tracksuit bottoms and gloves.
The second man was of stocky build, wearing a mask, a Nike hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms with a stripe down the side, and trainers.
DC Lauren Caskie said: “I’d urge anyone with information, whether that’s CCTV, dash cam footage or you witnessed suspicious activity in the area, to contact us.”
