A 23-year-old Warrington man who sexually assaulted two women while they slept has been jailed for six years at Liverpool Crown Court, today, Tuesday.

Alex Slocombe from Duxford Court, Poulton-with-Fearnhead pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by penetration at Liverpool Crown Court on 23rd March 2021.

He appeared again at the Crown Court today, and was sentenced to six years in prison, immediately being taken into custody.
He was also given an indefinite restraining order and required to sign the sex offenders register for life.
The charges relate to two women who he sexually assaulted while they slept on separate occasions in 2017 and 2020.
DC Joe Davies said: “This conviction sends a clear message about consent and the associated consequences.
“The offender’s actions had a profound and long-lasting impact on both victims. They have both struggled to come to terms with what happened to them and are still very much affected by what Slocombe did.
“Hopefully the result today can go some way to helping the victims feel a sense of justice and I hope they can start to move forward with their lives in the near future.
“I hope that this gives others hope that they can have the confidence to come forward and talk about what happened to them and that their concerns will be taken seriously.
“Anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault is urged to come forward and report it to police. You will be listened to, your concerns will be taken seriously and we will do all we can do to provide you with the specialist support you will need.”
