BOROUGH planning chiefs have granted permission for replacement windows and other alterations to a historic house at Lymm.
The Nook, is a Grade 2 Listed building in Stage Lane, believed to date from the late 18th century and facing onto the Bridgewater Canal.
It stands in substantial grounds which contain a pump and trough which are also Listed as having historic or architectural interest.
The proposals are for like-for-like replacement painted timber windows which will be double-glazed, but which will match the appearance of the existing windows.
There will also be some minor internal alterations in the cellar and an attic room and necessary re-pointing to a chimney.
Planning officers recommended the works be approved and said they would ensure the fabric of the building was appropriately protected and preserve its historic and architectural features.
