TWO fire crews were called out on Saturday afternoon to tackle a car fire on the M6 southbound between junction 20 at the Lymm interchange junction 19 at Grappenhall.

Crews from Birchwood and Lymm were called out shortly after 3.15 pm to reports of a car engine overheating following an oil leak.

The vehicle was located on the hard shoulder of the M6 southbound between junction 20 to junction 19.
A hose reel was used to cool it down and it was checked using a thermal imaging camera.
