COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall in Warrington and drop below national average

COVID-19 infection rates have fallen for a second consecutive day in Warrington and are now below the national average again.

The 3 (3) new cases in the latest 24-hour daily update from Public Health England, means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 17,913 (17,910).
While there have been an increase in inpatient numbers in recent days at Warrington & Halton Hospital, these have not been “overwhelming” and are not affecting critical care.



Cases in Warrington for the last seven days were 39 (50) – 18.6 (23.8) per 100,000 population, showing a decrease in new cases for a second consecutive day over a seven-day period. This compares to the national rate of 20.5 (21.2) per 100,000.
