Police issue warning over attempted distraction burglaries

POLICE are warning residents to be on their guard against possible distraction burglaries following reports of groups of males knocking on doors in South Warrington.

Lymm Police have been receiving reports in other areas of South Warrington of males knocking on doors, some are looking to try and sell items, which as previously stated isn’t genuine.



However , yesterday, they received reports of males who have been trying to gain access to houses, which police suspect are attempted distraction burglaries.
Thankfully all attempts were stopped, hand police are warning residents to be vigilant and not to answer the door to groups of males, or strangers.
They are also asking people be on the lookout for their neighbours, friends and especially any vulnerable neighbours.
Any suspicious activity can be reported on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
