No new deaths and eight confirmed COVID-19 cases as infection rates increase slightly

THERE have been no new COVID-19 related deaths reported at Warrington Hospital while 8 new cases have been confirmed in the town, showing a slight increase over a seven-day period.

Cases in local schools have increased this week, increasing from 2-5 schools and early year settings with confirmed cases and the number of pupils self-isolating increasing from 28-184 from April 27-30.
The 8 (11) new cases in the latest 24-hour daily update from Public Health England, means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 17,874 (17,866).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days were 42 (38) – 20 (18.1) per 100,000 population, showing a small increase in new cases over a seven-day period. This compares to the national rate of 23.9 (24.5) per 100,000.
