Man, 18 and 15-year-old boy charged with assault on pensioner who was kicked into River Mersey

UPDATED: POLICE have charged an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy in connection with assaulting a pensioner who was kicked into the River Mersey at Warrington on Sunday.

Benjamin Bridgeman, of Quebec Road, Orford, has been charged with assault by beating, whole a 15-year-old boy has been charged with common assault. Both have been bailed and will appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on 19 May.
He was arrested on Wednesday 28 April after he attended a police station.



The charge relates to an assault that occurred between 2.30pm and 3pm on Sunday 25 April on the bank of the River Mersey involving a 74-year-old man.
A 15-year-old boy who was arrested on Wednesday 28 April has been released with no further action for the assault. He has been released under investigation for the offence of possession with intent to supply cannabis.
