IT was mixed fortunes for Warrington drivers as they returned to action at Oulton Park for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Warrington Kart Racer Paul Platt competed at the BARC NW Centre Races at Oulton Park and his first race gave him a runaway win leading from start to finish in his PVP Gas Gas 250c machine.

His time for the first race over 9 laps was 15.22.169 an average sped of 94 .58 mph for the Oulton Park international Circuit. But in his second race Paul could only manage 6th place.
“It’s been nearly two years since I raced competitively and I am really looking forward to more racing ” said Paul .
It was also mixed fortunes for Warrington Racing driver Guy Carter at the BARC NW Race meeting.
Guy was taking part in the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Championship in his Camco Automotive Ltd TVR Tuscan 5000 .. Bad luck struck Guy on his practice session limiting him to one lap when his throttle cable broke causing him to miss the rest of the session.
In the race, Guy finished a creditable 9th place from 37 starters and also taking 3rd in his class. His time for the race was 24.10.128 an average of 80.19mph.
“Like most other drivers I have not been able to race because of Covid-19 restrictions and it feel great to get behind the wheel again” said Guy, pictured below.
