Vandals blamed for woodland blaze at Warrington

VANDALS were blamed for a fire which was discovered in woodland at Warrington last night.
The blaze, off Stringer Crescent, was extinguished by firefighters using beaters and water back packs.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 967953.


Firefighters were also called out last night to deal with a grass fire off Manchester Road, Warrington.
The blaze was seen as an almost inevitable consequence of a few days without rain.
The crew used beaters and a water back pack to deal with the outbreak and there was no damage to property.
In another incident, crews from Warrington and lymm were called to deal with a kitchen fire in Golborne Lane, High Legh. They used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to deal with the blaze, which was caused by the cooker.
No-one was hurt.
