Firefighters called out to rubbish bin fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night to tackle a rubbish bin fire in Woolston.

One fire engine attended from Birchwood following reports of a small fire in the open on Somerset Way.



On arrival, the crew found a fire in a rubbish bin.
One water backpack was used to extinguish the flames.

  1. Too many of these happening across town in recent weeks. Unless some action is taken there’s going to be an incident where someone is hurt or serious property damage occurs. Residential CCTV and video doorbell footage is becoming more common and might help catch some culprits. Let’s just hope that if it does the courts apply sever sentencing.
