Road closures set for Grappenhall, Thelwall and Appleton

WARRINGTON Borough Council has made a number of road closure orders which will come into force in the Grappenhall and Thelwall areas next Monday (April 19) and the following week in Appleton.

The Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows:- Entire lengths of road: Middlehurst Road; Brookfield Park; Harwood Gardens; Beechfield Drive; Clarence Road; Mayfield Road; Windsor Drive.
The Order will be effective from 19th April 2021 for 6 weeks between 8:30am & 5:30pm, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.



The alternative routes will be: Middlehurst Road via Knutsford Road, Victoria Road, York Road and vice versa or via York Road, Chester Road, Clarence Road, Knutsford Road and vice versa; Beechfield Drive via York Road, Chester Road, Albert Road Victoria Road or via York Road, Middlehurst Road, Knutsford Road, Victoria Road and vice versa; Clarence Road via Chester Road, Albert Road, Knutsford Road or via Knutsford Road, Euclid Avenue, Chester Road and vice versa; Mayfield Road via Knutsford Road, Bradshaw Lane, Springfield Avenue and vice versa; Windsor Drive via Knutsford Road and vice versa.
The closures are required for carriageway or footway surfacing.
The following week Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a prohibition of driving and clearway on Warrington Road, Appleton, from Park Lane to Daresbury Lane.
The Order will be effective from 26th April 2021 for 7 weeks between 9:30am & 3:30pm, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Park Lane, A56 Chester Road, Daresbury Lane and vice versa.
The restrictions are required to allow for carriageway haunch strengthening and surfacing.
