174 candidates will contest 58 seats at Warrington Borough Council elections

A total of 174 candidates will be contesting the 58 seats across the town in the all-out Warrington Borough Council elections on May 6.

The Conservative and Labour parties will be contesting all 58 seats, while the Liberal Democrats will be fielding 36 candidates, The Green Party nine and a total of 13 independents.
The ‘statement of persons nominated’ for the borough and parish elections has been published by Warrington Borough Council, with the elections taking place between 7am and 10pm on May 6.
There are 22 wards across Warrington.
Labour is currently the controlling group on the council with 43 seats. There are 11 Liberal Democrats, one Conservative and three independents.
