Lymm Twin Town Society host virtual twinning meeting

LYMM Twin Town Society took advantage of modern technology to hold a twinning event with their French twins in Meung sur Loire.

Sadly the main annual event of the Twin Town Society, the visit to Meung sur Loire, had to be cancelled last year.
Whilst the Covid restrictions are thankfully easing, it is now clear that the exchange will not take place in 2021 either.

Lymm Twin Town Society Chairman Chris Lomb said: “Looking on the bright side, members in both France and the UK are all more often at home than normal and the internet works just as well for other countries as it does for across the road in Lymm. So we decided to have a virtual social evening with our French friends.
“It was not high culture but it was fun. We started with a little singing and had quite a few breaks for wishing each well with a glass of wine.
“But the main event was a game of bingo – it translates very easily with few words of the other language needed. L’entente cordiale is well – at least between Lymm and Meung even if not always between London and Paris!”
