THREE people charged in connection with the theft of two dogs from outside a Cheshire store are due to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court today, Wednesday, March 31.
Malachy Doherty, 37, Mary Docherty, 28, and a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested at an address in Metcalfe Road, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, on the morning of Tuesday 30 March.
They have all since been charged with theft.
The charge relates to the theft of two black Labradors from outside a Marks & Spencer store in Beam Street, Nantwich.
The dogs, which were stolen shortly after 6pm on Saturday 27 March, have been recovered from the Tunstall area of Stoke-on-Trent and reunited with their owners.
Doherty, of McKinley Street, Tunstall; Docherty, of Metcalfe Road, Tunstall; and the 14-year-old boy have all been remanded in custody.
They are all set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 31 March.
Social media has been rife with reports of attempted dog thefts in the Warrington area but police moved to reassure residents by saying there had been no reported dog thefts in the South Warrington area
