PLANS have been submitted for major external refurbishments to the rear garden at the Mulberry Tree public house in the centre of Stockton Heath village.
The proposals, which include a new louvre roof canopy system, new fencing and gates, external seating booths, external bar/server, etc, are part of proposals to revitalise the Grade 2 Listed building, which dates from 1907.
Aim of the scheme is to enhance the building’s contribution to the village centre.
An existing, poor-quality covered canopy will be removed.
The applicants say the changes will drastically improve the external area, while having only a positive impact on the existing building.
