Road closures looming at Grappenhall and Thelwall

ROAD closures are looming on various roads in the Grappenhall and Tehwall areas of Warrington next month, April for up to six weeks.

Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.



The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving and clearway as follows:- Entire lengths of road: Middlehurst Road; Brookfield Park; Harwood Gardens; Beechfield Drive; Clarence Road; Mayfield Road; Windsor Drive.
The Order will be effective from 19th April 2021 for 6 weeks between 8:30am & 5:30pm, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative routes will be: Middlehurst Road via Knutsford Road, Victoria Road, York Road and vice versa or via York Road, Chester Road, Clarence Road, Knutsford Road and vice versa; Beechfield Drive via York Road, Chester Road, Albert Road Victoria Road or via York Road, Middlehurst Road, Knutsford Road, Victoria Road and vice versa; Clarence Road via Chester Road, Albert Road, Knutsford Road or via Knutsford Road, Euclid Avenue, Chester Road and vice versa; Mayfield Road via Knutsford Road, Bradshaw Lane, Springfield Avenue and vice versa; Windsor Drive via Knutsford Road and vice versa.
The closures are required for carriageway or footway surfacing.
