New family homes plan approved for former nursery site near Lymm

PLANS have been approved for new family homes to be built in Warburton near Lymm on a former nursery site that has been vacant for more than two years.

Manchester-based P4 Planning has secured full planning permission on behalf of Edgefold Homes Ltd, who can now progress with the scheme, which is located on the former Panflora Nurseries Site.

The decision by Trafford Council follows the submission of plans to transform the 0.49ha site and paves the way for work to begin on an attractive new residential development comprising seven new homes.
The development will re-purpose a previously developed brownfield site, located within an area of Green Belt, into a high-quality, residential scheme. The Edgefold team not only demonstrated that the proposed scheme would have no greater impact on the openness of the Green Belt than the existing form, but that it would also make a positive contribution to the area; something which was recognised by supporters of the scheme which included the local Parish Councils.
Charlotte Fowler, Associate at P4 Planning, said: “We have worked very closely with our client who has ensured the plans provide all the key elements to ensure the creation of a visually attractive scheme and one which meets all expectations and ambitions for the area. This announcement enables them to progress with the new homes and ensure this regeneration scheme becomes a reality.”
The new dwellings, which have been designed by Bowker Sadler Architects, will replace existing workshop and storage structures that have been vacant for over two years.
Ken Whitaker, Director of Edgefold Homes, said: “We are looking forward to making a start and seeing the transformation get underway. By re-purposing the site we can help meet the pressing need for family homes in the area, and continue with our vision of creating attractive new homes with interesting designs, in great locations.”
The wider team included Chadkirk Consulting, TPM Landscape, Rachel Hacking Ecology and transport consultants, SCP.
