COVID-19 infection rates continue to rise in Warrington for second consecutive day

COVID-19 infection rates have continued to rise slightly in Warrington for a second consecutive day after 21 new cases were confirmed in the latest data from Public Health England.

The 21 (27) new cases in the latest daily update means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 17,494 (17,473).
Warrington’s infection rate remains higher than the national average which has dropped slightly.

Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 153 (149) – 72.9 (70.9.) per 100,000 population, showing a slight rise in infection rates for a second consecutive day.
This compares to the national rate of 58.1 (58.9) per 100,000.
