Brighter future forecast for Culcheth Library

A BRIGHTER future is being forecast for Culcheth Library with promises of “significant funding” for renovation and modernisation.

The Friends of Culcheth Library have had discussions with Warrington Borough Council and library operators LiveWire and been told that funding is to be made available for renovation, modernisation and improvements.
This represents a huge change from the situation a few years ago when there were fears the library might close.
Over the last four years, the Friends have received many donations, regular and one-offs, to help them carry out work in the library and promote a wide range of activities involving various sections of the Culcheth community.

These include setting up groups for Lego, crafting, jigsaw, reading and wellbeing.
As always, the Friends are looking for further ideas and suggestions to improve the library and make sure it is available to all the community.
A spokesperson for the Friends said: “The borough council and LiveWire have recognised all the work done so far by the Friends and this has played an important part in supporting the case we put forward for improvements/upgrades.
“As soon as we have any further important information on improvements/upgrades we will let the public know.”
