Local man charged with drink driving following two vehicle collision on Sankey Way

A 24-year-old local man has been charged with drink driving and failing to stop after a collision following a two-vehicle collision which resulted in Sankey Way being closed on Friday evening.

Daniel Simpson of Wroxham Road, Great Sankey Warrington, has been charged with driving with excess alcohol, driving without due car and attention and failing to stop after a collision involving a red Ford Fiesta and a blue Volkswagen Polo near the junction with Cromwell Avenue.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 7pm on Friday, March 5, police were called to reports of a collision on Sankey Way.
“Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a red Ford Fiesta and a blue Volkswagen Polo.
“There were no reports of any injuries, but the driver of the Fiesta had left the scene.
“A 24-year-old local man was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.
Daniel Simpson has since been charged with drink driving, driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after a collision.
Simpson, of Wroxham Road in Great Sankey, has been released on bail and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 24.
