Two fire crews tackle barn fire

TWO fire crews were called out to tackle a barn fire involving hay at High Legh near Lymm.

At 4.30pm firefighters from Lymm were called to reports of an outbuilding fire in Peacock Lane, High Legh.
On arrival, crews found a quantity of hay that was well alight in a farm building.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
They also used stack and drags to remove the hay from the building and a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
The crews were detained at the barn fire for around two hours.
In another incident, shortly before 3.30pm firefighters from Birchwood used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire in a garden on Sandy Lane, Orford, Warrington.
The crew were detained at the scene for around 15 minutes
