A WARRINGTON teacher has completed a tough endurance running challenge to raise money for the charity Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Sam Lawrence, head of Year 9 at King’s Leadership Academy at Woolston ran the 4x4x48 challenge – running four miles every four hours for 48 hours.
The challenge is led by former US Navy Seal David Goggins.
She ran all her routes in Cheshire as part of a fundraising campaign in memory of her father who died in August 2016. She started at 4pm on Friday and finished at 12 noon on Sunday.
Sam said: “I have raised over £4,000 so far, running six marathons in 12 months and 18 half marathons since he died. Before then, I did not run at all.
“I want to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer – it has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers and only seven per cent of people diagnosed live past five years.”
