CULCHETH Community Day – normally held at the beginning of May – has been cancelled for the second year in succession.
Cllr Peter Holmes, chairman of organisers Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council said: “It is with regret that we have unanimously voted to cancel this year’s Community Day.
“ It is the second year running it has had to be cancelled due to Covid, but due to the restrictions in place it would be impossible to run the event in a safe manner.
“We know that charities are struggling at this time, and we were hoping that it would be able to proceed, as significant sums are raised for local charities, but it has become clear recently that things will not be back to normal by the beginning of May in time for the event.
“We are hopeful that Community Day will be back in 2022.”
