WARRINGTON South MP Andy Carter is leading a drive to bring free government support to more local firms in Warrington to help them take advantage of export opportunities and to tap into demand for British products from overseas.

The first exporting event, taking place virtually on the 18th March, will be led by the Department for International Trade and Mr Carter.
By organising a series of events through 2021, the Government is helping businesses in Warrington to find out how they can start or grow international sales and get free government support to do it.
Mr Carter is working with the Department for International Trade as part of the Parliamentary Export Programme, to help local businesses access the support they need to boost their exporting potential.
Commenting one month away from the first event, Andy Carter said: “Helping local businesses survive and then recover from the pandemic is one of my top priorities. That’s why I’m delighted to be hosting events that can save local jobs and give businesses in Warrington South access to information, advice and finance to sell internationally.
“I’m determined to ensure that our area does not get left behind and whatever services are available are provided here to help us get back on our feet after Covid.
“The events I’m organising are free, and all a business is in my constituency has to do is register on the link below. Experts and experienced exporters will be online to provide free advice including on government-supported working capital and the practicalities of post-Brexit trade. We are one month away so please do email me if you have any questions.”
Warrington Chamber of Commerce CEO, Stephen Fitzsimons, has also welcomed the event saying: “Warrington has always looked globally to sell its products and services to customers who appreciate the strength of the Made in Britain brand. Locally manufactured wire made the town famous across the world for quality and service. Today, Warrington is a significant exporter of intellectual expertise, especially from its world-class nuclear sector. We need to inspire and support the next generation of international traders and this event will provide the steppingstone into exciting new ventures and opportunities.”
Whether a business is new to exporting, has exported in the past or is a current exporter, participating in the programme will equip them with the support and tools they need to begin or continue their exporting journey.
Mr Carter is a is a founding member of the Parliamentary Export Programme where selected cross-party MPs organise and chair virtual meetings with experts from business and government. He can be contacted at [email protected].
