Firefighters tackle van fire at Culcheth

FIREFIGHTERS were called out following multiple reports of a van fire at Culcheth yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.

A fire crew from Birchwood was dispatched to the incident at 2.30pm and on arrival they found a van that was well alight.
One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
The crew then used a hose reel jet to cool the vehicle.
Firefighters were detained at the scene for around one hour.

In another incident, shortly before 5pm firefighters from Stockton Heath used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small garden fire on Ash Acre Meadows, Latchford.
The crew was in attendance for around 15 minutes.
