No new deaths and COVID-19 infection rates at lowest since mid-December

NO further COVID-19 deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital since yesterday while 41 new cases have been confirmed in the town, continuing a downward trend, with the infection rate at its lowest since mid-December.

The 41 (60) new cases in the latest daily update from Public Health England means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 16,645 (16,604).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 391 (407) – 186.2 (193.9) per 100,000 population, continuing a downward trend over a seven-day period and the lowest rate since mid-December. This compares to the national rate of 136.5 (142) per 100,000.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 453 (452) 215.7 per 100,000 population.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is now 502 (480).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Wednesday, February 17 was 738 (799), taking the total number of deaths to 118,933 (118,195).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 12,718 (10,625), taking the total number to 4,071,185 (4,058,468).
