Free online acting workshops being launched by former Hollyoaks actor

WARRINGTON based creative company Ludovico founded by former Hollyoaks actor Darren Jeffries has partnered with Culture Warrington to provide free online acting workshops throughout February and March.

Each individual workshop is designed with the beginner in mind, and no previous experience is necessary. Catering for anyone who might be interested in acting but aren’t sure if it’s for them,
those who enjoyed acting at school or college but haven’t had the opportunity since, and anyone who would like to begin an acting career but isn’t sure where to start.
Each workshop will be run by Ludovico founder and experienced TV/Stage actor Darren Jeffries, best known for playing Sam ‘OB’ O’Brien in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. Ludovico is Warrington’s
creative company, providing courses on acting and scriptwriting, and is also a fully-fledged production company producing media, films and documentaries.
Jeffries has been running successful eight-week acting courses in Pyramid Arts Centre since 2018, with classes focusing on-screen acting, script analysis, stage skills, improvisation, various acting techniques and industry know-how.
At the age of 15, Darren Jeffries starred in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks between 1997 and 2007, as well as returning in 2017, and has since appeared on stage in various theatres throughout the UK
including Manchester’s HOME, Bolton Octagon and Square Chapel Arts Centre.
He is due to perform on stage in March this year at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre in ‘PURE’ by theatre company HER Productions.
Actor and founder of Ludovico, Darren Jeffries said: “Our main courses have been a huge success, producing a grassroots acting community that Warrington can absolutely be proud of.
Although the town already contains a wealth of acting talent, there is still plenty lying undiscovered.
I’m a firm believer in providing Warrington adults with access to professional training and opportunities, regardless of previous experience. These free workshops are the ideal chance for
anyone to ‘dip their toes in’ as it were, discovering exactly what acting is all about in a pressure-free environment.
It can be a huge leap for someone interested in acting to learn more on the subject, and working with Culture Warrington we’ve developed a series of online workshops designed to eliminate any
nerves or concerns. People can just observe, ask questions or even try a bit of acting themselves if they choose. It’s going to be loads of fun, a proper laugh!”
